ABOUT Natalie Shwartz
Hi, my name is Natalie (Natalia) Shwartz and I am a Registered Massage Therapist and a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in Toronto, Ontario. I graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy and have been working as an RMT for just over 2 years now. I completed training in Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage, including Complete Decongestive Therapy for Lymphedema in June 2023. I am also an Authorizer for the Assistive Devices Program in Ontario, that provides 75% coverage for compression garments for lymphedema management. I am also going to be taking Lymphatic Taping training in order to further help people with lymphatic system concerns. I have further training in cupping therapy and Thai massage and I have an especially strong interest in working with oncology/cancer patients at any stage of their treatment and recovery, helping educate patients on lymphedema prevention post surgery and treatment and managing any dysfunctions and disability following cancer treatment. I am also interested in general post-surgical care, trans and non-binary health, palliative care and helping folks with physical symptoms and dysfunction resulting from mental health struggles (within my scope of practice as an RMT - treating soft tissue concerns, working to integrate with and calm the nervous system). Generally, I love sharing knowledge and educating my patients on their bodies, neuromuscular connections, understanding our nervous system and chronic pain, preventing dysfunction and feeling and functioning better! I have always been a very active person - I regularly train at the gym and have done everything from Crossfit to Powerlifting (and also competed in powerlifting a few times). I love being outdoors - cycling, stand up paddle boarding, walking and hiking, kayaking etc. My background in fitness has given me a better understanding of how people train and my own injuries have also taught me a lot about rehab and recovery that I do my best to pass onto my patients. I strive to provide an inclusive, judgment-free practice that welcomes all folks, providing a safe space for all bodies and all stages of people’s wellness journeys. CONTACT IG: @natshwartz.rmt |
